Spend a fun day learning about local life in central Vietnam. Cycle, visit a local village, ride in a traditional basket boat, and learn to fish as the natives do. A hands-on experience that’s fun for the entire family.
Set off on a bicycle ride out to Tra Que Village, a 30-minute ride through rural surroundings. We make a pit stop at a local vegetable village to see the daily activities of the farmers. Continue to cycle along the De Vong River to Hoi An dock, where we board a boat to the Cua Dai beach, where we work with local fishermen to try out the traditional methods for casting a local fishing net.
Back in the boat, we go to Cam Thanh Water Coconut Village, where we change our transport for a round basket boat to float along the river. Our local fisherman guides will teach us how to catch crabs and row our oddly shaped circular boats. Our time on the water finishes with a basket boat race—a little competition and fun!
A well-earned lunch of local cuisine is served at a nearby family home. After lunch, we learn how to use coconut leaves to make different tools and visit a village craftsman’s house to see traditional methods at work.
